About Daniel Casanova

I am passionate about two things: people and computers. I’m the sort of person who would gladly give you the shirt off my back if it would help. This passion quickly led me to take on a customer service role after college. Through working in retail I have learned many things, such as how to satisfy challenging customer requests and the importance of delivering on my promises. As rewarding as it is to make people smile, however, I always felt that something was missing. I have followed the evolution of personal computing my entire life. One of my earliest memories is of my father’s Commodore PC10-2, complete with two 5.25” floppy drives and maxed out at 640 kB of RAM. I wrote batch programs and played text-based games… and have loved computers ever since. All throughout highschool and college, I would troubleshoot my friends’ and family’s computer problems with ease, reveling in new challenges. After I entered the workforce, my burgeoning IT skills became useful to my employers on many occasions. However, since I aspired to be a designer, I never took this skill seriously. It came so naturally to me that I thought, “Anyone can do this.” Fortunately, my employer recognized this untapped potential in me and put me to work upgrading the company’s outdated computer systems. It was through this experience that I realized my true calling: computers. My goal is to establish myself in a position that will satisfy both of my passions: people and computers.
