About Daniel Cedro

I am a third-year student pharmacist at Loma Linda University currently looking for a pharmacy intern position in an ambulatory care or inpatient setting. Please contact me at dcedro@students.llu.edu or 909-728-5234. While I was working as a pharmacy technician, I came to appreciate the impact that my pharmacists were able to do for people. I realized that there is a certain kind of satisfaction that comes with helping people improve their health. This led me to pursue a career in pharmacy where I can tangibly see the impact I can bring to a community. I currently work at RUHS Outpatient Pharmacy have been able to participate in projects that changed the hospital's medication recommendations in order to benefit patient health. For example, many patients who were taking albuterol with uncontrolled asthma symptoms have been changed to the recommended Symbicort regimen. I was able to help with this process by calling and counseling patients who were prescribed with albuterol to check up on their disease state as well as providing answers to frequently asked questions. Although some patients declined the offer for help, I was still able to find satisfaction in seeing others who took the step forward to better health. As a result of this project, providers at the hospital are now changing their patients' regimen to the preferred treatment. During my time in school, I've been able to volunteer as a music tutor at CKC Music Tutoring where I would teach 1-3 students each session on how to sing, play the guitar and percussion. I have also served as an ISHP Liaison where I attended monthly meetings to update local ASHP/CSHP members on current LLU chapter events and relay any important information back to the LLU ASHP/CSHP chapter.
