I have 21 years experience with Network Rail starting in the technical team where I move up to PTO with 8 years. This role included conducting various surveys, analysing the data and making decisions depending on the results of that data. I was competent in the planning and installation of S&C including level 3 stressing, and also had the opportunity to plan and manage some small renewals projects. Since 2009 I have been the section manager track at Northampton where I am responsible for maintaining 80+ miles to track safely and compliantly to allow our customers to travel safely and on time to their destinations. I manage 28 people from all HR and medical issues, to the safety of my staff, their competencies, and all compliance issues on a daily basis. I find the role challenging but rewarding and I still feel that I learn something new everyday. I achieve this by communicating and listening and striving to improve the section every day.
