Daniel Contreras is a Global Anti-Bribery & Corruption Continuous Assurance Associate Director in the Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC) department of Standard Chartered Bank, where he creates and performs reviews to identify root causes impacting the effectiveness and sustainability of the Bank’s control environment. During his career, Daniel has provided Compliance, Risk Assessment and FCPA consulting to global organizations in countries including Argentina, Mexico, Nigeria, Spain and the broader U.S, spanning across the energy, telecommunication, retail, financial, pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries. Daniel is skilled at participating in and leading forensic accounting engagements including matters involving misappropriation of assets, anti-bribery and corruption audits, tax avoidance, conflict of interest, contract dispute litigation, Anti Money Laundering (“AML”), and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act ("FCPA"). Daniel's ability to engage key stakeholders across both the internal organization and external client organizations has allowed him to effectively lead large scale client engagements that directly impact their business strategy.
