About Daniel Corsten

Daniel Corsten is a Professor in the Department of Technology and Operations at IE Business School, a Global Top 10 MBA Business School. He was Visiting Professor at INSEAD, Wharton School and London Business School. His PhD is from University St. Gallen where he was Assistant/Associate Professor and Vice Director of the Institute of Technology Management. Daniel has worked with more than 20 Fortune 500 companies in 10 countries, including ABB, Bayer, Danone, Metro, Nestle, Novartis, l’Oreal, Roche, ThyssenKrupp, UBS, Unilever as well as with numerous Start-Ups. He serves as a director or advisor on several boards of associations and corporations. Currently, he is leading a multi-year big data analytics project with a global CPG company analyzing retailer and shopper data on online product availability and shopper reactions in the US, China, Japan, UK, France and Germany. Daniel is a regular key note speaker at academic and industry conferences. He is co-founder, curator and moderator of the annual 'Everywhere Store Conference' held in New York City following the NRF. Daniel teaches Strategy, Operations, Scaling and Digital Management. Besides teaching in MBAs, EMBAs and Executives he is involved in IE’s Venture Lab where he mentors and coaches Start-Ups. He has designed open and in-house program for associations and big corporations, including the four-campus program ‘Building Leadership in the Consumer Industry’ delivered at INSEAD, Wharton, LBS and St. Gallen. For his teaching and case writing he has won several awards. Daniel has published over 150 scholarly and managerial articles as well as several books. His research appeared in the Strategic Management Journal, Management Science, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Operations Management, and Harvard Business Review and has been cited several thousand times. His next book – scheduled for 2018 - will be on ‘Growth Strategies – How Brands can win Mind and Market Share to succeed in the Digital Economy.’
