About Daniel Craig

My name is Daniel and I am a fourth-year computer science major at Stevens Institute of Technology. I have many years of experience with programming, computer science, technology, and hardware. My main area of interest in computer science is systems. At Stevens, I have taken many relevant computer science courses. These include but are not limited to Data Structures, Discrete Math, Algorithms, Computer Architecture and Organization, Systems Programming, Principles of Programming Languages, Operating Systems, Compiler Design, Web Programming 1 & 2, Database Management Systems 1 & 2, Theory of Computation, Agile methods for software development, Machine Learning, System Security, Systems Administration, and GPU Programming. I am most familiar with the languages C, Python, Java, Javascript, Bash, HTML, CSS, OCaml, and SQL. I am also familiar with the database software MongoDB. In the summer of 2023, I worked as an intern at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. There, I worked on an enterprise-wide group project with numerous teammates and presented part of it to the company at the end. I also developed a Javascript program that listens for webhooks, processes them, and makes api calls. I currently work as a Course Assistant for Stevens Institute of Technology. This semester, I am assisting the Operating Systems class. This class teaches various aspects about operating systems, such as scheduling, device drivers, kernels, and filesystems. My most valuable skill is problem solving. From my years of experience with technology and programming, I have learned various ways of tackling the problems that approach me. I can efficiently find a solution to many technological problems that make their way to me. With my years of experience teaching various topics to students of all ages, I have developed a knack for effective teaching and explaining concepts. I am also good at taking charge in situations that need leadership. I also enjoy technology outside of an academic setting. I have experience repairing hardware on phones and laptops; and modifying software on them. I have unlocked bootloaders and installed custom ROMs on a few Android devices. I am determined to continue my education and learn more about computer science, programming, problem solving, and technology.
