About Daniel Diurczak

As a Structural Engineer at General Dynamics Electric Boat, I apply my skills and knowledge in finite element analysis (FEA) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) to design and optimize submarine structures and systems. I work with a team of engineers and analysts to perform structural simulations, validations, and optimizations using tools such as Abaqus, DYSMAS, SmartUQ, NX, HyperWorks, and ANSYS Fluent. I also collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and regulations. I graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a BS in Aerospace Engineering in 2019, where I gained a solid foundation in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, propulsion, and structural mechanics. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a MS in Mechanical Engineering in Spring of 2024, where I successfully showed methods to efficiently mitigate the post-implosion response of cylindrical structures in the Dynamic Photomechanical Laboratory. I have worked at RFA Engineering, where I conducted FEA on various components and assemblies for John Deere Dubuque Works. I have also interned at Gogo Air, where I assisted in the development and testing of airborne connectivity systems. My goal is to leverage my technical expertise to contribute to the innovation and excellence of General Dynamics Electric Boat, and to pursue continuous learning and professional development in the field of aerospace and mechanical engineering. I am motivated by challenging and complex problems, and I enjoy working with diverse and collaborative teams. I am fluent in English and Polish, and I am always eager to learn new languages and cultures.
