About Daniel Dotchin

I have been working in the education sector for nine years now, most recently fulfilling the role of a High School English teacher for the last three years. Prior to this, I worked as a HLTA/Librarian for three years in the same department. Before teacher training, I worked as a student support assistant at an A-level college and an academic mentor for foundation degree students. Cumulatively, this experience has given a wide insight into the education sector over many levels and has grown my skills as an educator significantly. I also regularly take part in both voluntary and required CPD opportunities in order to continually expand my skill set. Furthermore, I have just finished teaching a summer camp in China, which allowed me the privilege to see how education takes place in other parts of the world, which in turn has broadened my own teaching practice. Further to this, I was a voluntary instructor with the Air Cadets for nine years, where I originally developed my teaching skills and was able to plan and lead a huge range of extra curricular activities including the Duke of Edinburgh award, team building exercises and bushcraft to name a few. I still help run the Duke of Edinburgh award at my current school. Outside of teaching, I like to write, mountaineer and rock climb. I was awarded an Honorary Testimonial from the Royal Humane Society for helping to rescue a woman who fell from Sharp Edge in the Lake District. I have also written two books that I am seeking to publish.
