About Daniel Duncan

Daniel Duncan - is a accomplished parks and recreation professional with experience in facility operations management, program and event planning, marketing, employee development and budget management. Daniel hails from the East Coast where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health, Physcial Education and Recreation from College of New Jersey. During his career Daniel has been and educator, coach, manager and leader in his community for over 4 decades. He has managed and supervised programs for youth, adults, and active older adults. His specialties are youth and adult sports program management and recreation facility operations management. During his employment with the YMCA of San Diego County, Daniel received the prestigious "Recognition of Excellence in Programs and Facilities Award" from the YMCA of the USA National Headquarters in 2007 and received "the Best of San Diego" award for facility services by the Readers Choice Awards of the San Diego Downtown News for both 2010 and 2011. Daniel taught Fitness and Recreation Program Management courses at San Diego State University from 2007-2011. Daniel also served on the Planning and Development Committee of the Downtown San Diego Partnership and the Youth Outreach and Programs Committee for The San Diego Rotary Club. Daniel served on the Advisory Board of the Marilyn Magaram Center at Cal State Northridge from 2004-2005. Daniel also received the Outstanding Service Award from the YMCA of Greater New York in 2001. Daniel is currently the Recreation Supervisor at the Greenbriar Community Center. He is responsible for planning organizing and conducting programs, activities and special events for youth and adults for the Fort Worth Park and Recreation Department. His work is focused on collaborating and creating partnerships in the Fort Worth community to provide a variety of opportunities for socialization, recreation, sports, education and wellness to enhance the quality of life for youth and adults in Fort Worth. Daniel moved his family from Southern California 8 years ago after an extensive career within the YMCA. Daniel served seven years as an Executive Director with the YMCA of San Diego County, three years as the Associate Executive Director with the Metropolitan YMCA of Los Angeles, and six years as the Associate Executive Director with the YMCA of Greater New York. He has been employed with the City of Fort Worth for the last 7 years and 11 months. Daniel enjoys spending time with his family, fitness, coaching, traveling and various sports at all levels.
