After all, legal expertise was required to secure the settlement so why should the support stop post settlement? As a Specialist Financial Planner who works exclusively with individuals in receipt of compensation payments or under the auspices Court of Protection, my role is to hold the hand not only in the early stages but throughout their lifetime. This is achieved by providing information relating to solutions that are suitable for the individual in a clear, easy to understand manner. This is designed to equip each individual, Trustee or Deputy with the tools in order for them to confidently make decisions to meet their specific needs. Support is provided initially via a consultation that is held without charge that is designed to get to know the individual and understand what they really wish to achieve. This consultation also provides an opportunity to understand how I can help as well as ask any questions. At the end of this consultation enough understanding will have been obtained to identify the tools that may be suitable to help the individual construct their financial future. Thereafter, further meetings can be held should the individual wish to continue their journey with an experienced, knowledgeable hand on their shoulder to ensure that they can continue to make the best decisions for themselves throughout their lifetime.
