About Daniel Fowler

Currently living in Sicily, Italy, I serve as the Director of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) in Sigonella, where I lead a team of volunteers dedicated to providing financial, educational, and emergency support for Sailors, Marines, and their families. I retired from the United States Marine Corps in 2014 after 20 years of honorable service, where I worked as both a Logistician and a Recruiter. As a Logistician, I deployed multiple times to the Mediterranean and Middle East, and I supported humanitarian missions in Indonesia, Galveston, Texas, and Haiti. During my time on recruiting duty, I earned recognition as “Rookie Recruiter of the Year” for Recruiting Station San Antonio and achieved Centurion status—the highest award in Marine Corps Recruiting. After retiring, I embraced the role of stay-at-home dad while pursuing my education full time. I graduated in 2020 from the University of Maryland Global Campus with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Small Business Management. Like many families, mine was deeply impacted by COVID-19, and I spent 18 months homeschooling my children before they returned to in-person school. I am passionate about service, leadership, and community building—values that continue to guide my work with NMCRS and in every role I take on.
