About Daniel Frings

I’m an outcome focused academic leader and manager with a passion for working on the interface between individual performance transformation and positive system change. I have a track record of developing research, innovation and enterprise culture in Higher Education settings at both strategic and operational levels. Currently leading the R&I activity for a School with a diverse set of disciplines (from bread to biomed, with psychology, sports and forensic science in between!), I have a passion for getting the best out of people and places in an effective but compassionate way. As a credible research leader, I also maintain a high profile as expert in social psychology, with a focus on social identity and its effects on health and well-being, particularly around addiction. Other new research breaks ground in the integration of social psychology and psychodynamic psychotherapy. I also have a portfolio of well funded health and mental health trials and evaluations, ranging from digital start-ups to NHS Trust level interventions, with outcomes ranging from catapulting SMEs new products to market through to changing NICE guidelines.
