I'm a WordPress web developer and lifelong novelist who loves to create amazing experiences. I first crossed paths with web development back when the internet was a mere shadow of the monstrosity we know it as today and sites all looked and functioned like they were cobbled together by toddlers. Needless to say, the process failed to spark my creative fires at the time and I forgot all about web development as a creative medium. Fast forward to the winter of 2014. I had been trying to convince myself that Java was something I liked learning about and applying to app development because the market had been red hot for a few years, but looking back I can finally see that I was just going through the motions and hoping I'd grow to love it. While searching for new resources to further strengthen my grip on the language, I came across Treehouse, an online learning platform that would ultimately change my life. I had been drawn to the platform for their Java content, but I quickly found myself immersed in all of the web development content they offered. I realized that web development had come a long way from when sites were the artistic equivalent of elementary school pictures that would be proudly displayed at the Frigidaire gallery, and more importantly, my creative interest was definitely piqued. This exciting new world had opened up and there was a lot to learn, but I felt the payoff would be more than worth the effort. When I first started down this path I wasn't prepared for just how deep the rabbit hole went. I spent a lot of time trying to learn everything there was to learn about web development before I begrudgingly altered my plan and decided to pick an area of web development to specialize in. I chose to specialize in WordPress web development since the platform powers twenty-five percent of all of the websites in the world and offers solutions to many issues I felt future clients would need help solving. The rest is history in the making.
