About Daniel Gillette

I am a Computer Science and Machine Intelligence MSc. graduate working in IT, software and technology, but I also have a broad creative background, having previously been involved in film and arts courses. I have a strong independent outlook, and frequently partake in personal projects that combine my creative skills and technical knowledge to create exciting and engaging applications, which apply creativity in the context of a broad ability to solve problems. After completing my BSc thesis on the topic of natural computing methods for AI, and subsequently completing my Master's degree in Machine Intelligence, I am looking to further pursue my strong interest in artificial intelligence systems and programming in industry roles, as either a software, data or machine learning engineer. At university my work focused on building artificial neural network platforms using Java and Python, as well as exploring alternative optimization algorithms and artificial life simulations. Outside of university, my previous programming projects include a custom game and graphics engine written in C# with.NET leveraging the Monogame framework, as well as various web-enabled bots and automation tools. My most recent industry role involved working in a technical capacity with the Microsoft Power Platform. I also have experience with most generic IT applications, as well as specific knowledge in the areas of programming and IDE use (particularly with Java, C# and Python), graphical design applications, writing, music and sound design, and video editing. I work well in teams having been involved with and have lead team-based projects in a personal (non-industry) capacity, as well as having front-end customer service experience from previous roles in the service industry.
