Background
About Daniel Gittelman
I am actively seeking an entry-level research/analyst role in legal, intelligence, and policy-related fields, with particular interests in environmental rights, foreign affairs, and/or criminal law. While focused on these areas, I am open to all connections and opportunities. Thank you for your time and consideration, and please feel free to reach out! Over the past 1.5 years, I’ve worked with the federal government. Initially, as a part-time intern supporting the Bureau of Land Management’s history program, I worked with interviews, story maps, metadata, and archives. More recently, I’ve been a full-time employee in BLM’s Directives Office, where I edited, formatted, organized, and published policy documents. These roles have given me invaluable insights into the inner workings of the federal government, particularly within the Department of the Interior, while refining the literary, analytical, and research skills I developed as an English and History undergraduate at William & Mary. My general objective, through work experience, further education, and seizing all opportunities, is to educate myself as much as possible so that I may identify a specific niche within law and policy and contribute meaningfully to the field. I have interest in international development, ethics, and environmental law, but would like opportunities for more expertise before specializing. I know I have a lot to offer and am hopeful for an opportunity to get my foot in the door. I've had exceptional learning experiences so far, including volunteering at Crisis Textline, collaborating with DoD sponsors via Gen. Matthews's Innovation for Defense course, and working on a Literature-Data Science joint project analyzing the canonical impact of specific African American authors and texts. I presently have my eyes set on law school for 2026 and will continue to add to my experiences and knowledge until then. Thank you again.
