Background

About Daniel Guerrero

I am a second-generation Mexican-American Political Science student at UC San Diego with a focus on American Politics and a deep passion for civic engagement. My experience spans both the electoral and legislative arenas, where I've honed my skills in grassroots community involvement and political activism. As the current Vice President of UC San Diego College Democrats and Community Service Chair of Nueva Herencia de UCSD, I have led initiatives to support political campaigns and organized impactful community service events aimed at uplifting both Democratic and Latino voices. Being a young Latino in politics has fueled my commitment to using grassroots movements to uplift individuals who face challenges similar to those my family encountered not too long ago. My dedication to empowering my communities is rooted in a desire to be the helping hand that my grandparents and parents either received or never had the chance to receive. Previously, I represented California as a Senator at American Legion Boys Nation, debating and crafting legislative proposals on a national stage in a program with notable alumni like President Bill Clinton. I've also actively participated in congressional campaigns and delivered essential services to vulnerable Latino communities in both Los Angeles and San Diego. My adaptability, quick learning, and effective communication skills have driven my success across these roles. I am eager to continue leveraging my expertise in political and community activism to create a positive and lasting impact in my next opportunity.
