About Daniel Heckendorf

I am a motivated and enthusiastic team member with the ability to inspire others, set priorities, problem solve, achieve difficult goals, and produce work of high quality, both individually and with others. My recent professional experience and graduate school coursework focused primarily within the field of Water Resources Engineering, where I gained valuable training in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, river and stream restoration/rehabilitation, scour analysis, sediment transport, and stormwater management system analysis and design. My career goal is to become a licensed Professional Engineer, practicing principally as a Hydraulic Engineer in the Water Resources field. My areas of interest include: hydrology, hydraulic engineering, sediment transport, fluvial geomorphology, stream restoration/rehabilitation, flood control, stormwater management analysis & design, floodplain analysis & mapping, watershed planning, and reservoir management and operations. I enjoy teaching and coaching in both academic and activity-based capacities. Outside of the engineering profession, I also work as a math tutor and snowboard instructor for Clancy's Ski School at Stevens Pass.
