Daniel Höltgen is a communications and government relations professional over 20 years experience at the executive level in government and international organizations. He has worked in human rights, combating discrimination and antisemitism, EU enlargement, aviation, security and transport policy. Daniel is passionate about building networks for a common cause. He has worked extensively on crisis communications. Daniel is Director of Communications at the Council of Europe. Previous roles include Special Representative on antisemitic, anti-Muslim and other forms of religious intolerance, Head of External Relations at the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and National Expert at the European Commission’s Enlargement and Transport Directorates and Head of Unit for Political Analysis at the German Ministry of Transport. Daniel leads a dedicated team experts in press, digital media, public relations, events and publications. He has a proven track record of financial accountability and driving reforms. Daniel has British and German citizenship and speaks French fluently. He holds a Ph.D. in economic geography from the University of Cambridge and a diploma in journalism from the Institute of Journalism in Munich.
