About Daniel Horn

Daniel Horn, AIA, is a Queens, NY-based architect at ESKW/Architects who focuses on sustainability and long-term community resilience. Having lived through Superstorm Sandy in 2012, Dan confronts his work from a scientific, social, and psychological perspective, committing himself to building resilience in communities most at risk from natural hazards caused by climate change. Dan is also a co-founder of ORLI+ LLC, a growing collective of interdisciplinary professionals developing new models of community engagement & resilient design for a wide array of organizations. Most recently, Dan has been involved in the AIANY Civic Leadership Program as both a leader from the class of 2017 and an adviser in 2018, a contributor to the YAF Connection, and has been continuously engaged with all of the NYC based AIA chapters in various capacities. He also currently serves on the AIANY Design for Risk and Reconstruction (DfRR) committee, and is a new member of the AIA National 'Design for Water' task force currently focusing on a new framework for the Design Excellence Toolkit.
