About Daniel House

Brian House is Vice President of Digital/Technical Training at Mike Holt Enterprises, a third-generation unlimited electrical contractor, and a Certified Mike Holt Instructor. He’s a permanent member of Mike Holt’s video panel for recording the videos accompanying Mike Holt's textbooks. Brian has been teaching Mike Holt seminars since when he was personally selected for development by Mike from an elite group of instructors that attended Mike’s Train the Trainer boot camp. Brian was named one of the top presenters in that class. Brian helps Mike bring his products to the market and manages the curriculum development for Apprenticeship programs nationally. He plays a key role for the products by assisting in the re-writing and editing of the textbooks, coordinating the content and illustrations, and assuring the technical accuracy and flow of the information. For the 2023 Code cycle, Brian wrote the introductions and Analysis sections for Mike Holt’s Illustrated Guide to Changes to the 2023 NEC. From the 1990s, as a licensed unlimited electrical contractor, Brian ran a contracting firm that did everything from service work to designing energy-efficient lighting retrofits, exploring “green” biomass generators, and partnering with residential PV companies. His extensive first-hand experience and skills, along with Mike Holt’s instructor training, have enabled him to develop a teaching style that is practical, straightforward, and refreshing. Brian is high-energy, with a passion for doing business the right way. He expresses his commitment to the industry and his love for its people, whether teaching or working on books or instructional programs. Brian travels across the country to teach Mike Holt seminars to groups that include electricians, instructors, the military, and engineers. Brian and his wife Carissa have shared the joy of their four children and many foster children during their 26 years of marriage. When not mentoring youth at work or church, he can be found riding mountain bikes, teaching scuba, or fly fishing on Florida’s Intracoastal Waterways. Passionate about helping others, he regularly engages with the local community's youth to motivate them to explore their future.
