About Daniel Huecker
I love teaching almost as much as I love learning. From working with Mayan Farmers in the Peace Corps or kids in the city dump of Guatemala, to researchers at Harvard Medical School and MIT, I relish the challenge of tackling problems through learning and sharing. As an elementary teacher for seven years, and another seven as the school leader, I've learned that solving tough challenges requires thoughtful research, close collaboration, creative thinking, and hard work. As a school leader, I raised student achievement, grew our school enrollment, implemented better student assessments, developed a parent workshop series, and led our successful multi-million dollar facilities expansion. In addition, we implemented several innovative classes including- integrated English/Social Studies courses for high school - digital fabrication tools like 3D printing and laser cutting - hands-on learning like woodshop, gardening, and sewing I'm always happy to talk about education, technology, making, or anything inside or outside the traditional school box.
