About Daniel James Bell

I am passionate about empowering individuals to overcome difficult life circumstances through strength-based, trauma and resilience informed practice. I currently operate as a Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Social Worker at By The Hand Club for Kids in Chicago, IL. In this role, I utilize my clinical skills to counsel youth on issues like anger and impulse control, grief and loss, depression, and other mental health issues resulting from complex trauma. I also facilitate staff trainings on different SEL topics as well as create and share resources for staff and families served. I graduated from Michigan State University’s MSW program with a macro focus on organization and community leadership. Since graduating, I’ve obtained my license in clinical social work. This clinical licensure, partnered with my understanding of broader organizational and community needs, provides me with a unique skill set to support human service organizations. I am confident my diverse background in counseling, prevention, and social work provides me with important skills to help in a variety of human service vocations.
