About Daniel Jarvis

I am a Master of Science in Civil Engineering candidate at Brigham Young University (BYU), specializing in Transportation Engineering. My expected graduation date is December 2023. For my master's thesis, I am collaborating with the Utah Department of Transportation to optimize Incident Management Team performance using the advanced transportation model MATSim.In addition to my academic pursuits, I am also a research assistant in BYU's transportation lab and a part-time technician at GeoStrata, a geotechnical engineering firm. Through these experiences, I have developed a comprehensive skill set in essential software and programming languages for our field, such as Java, Python, CUBE, Synchro, Vissim, R, ArcGIS Pro, and VBA. I have also gained practical and research abilities in transportation modeling, geotechnical testing, and data analytics.My goal is to pursue a full-time career as a transportation engineer or planner in a metropolitan environment, where I can contribute to the design, planning, and management of sustainable and efficient transportation systems. I am eager to learn from and collaborate with innovative and diverse teams, and to apply my knowledge and skills to real-world challenges.
