About Daniel Korgel

My name is Daniel, I'm a lead software engineer with expertise in every part of a software project. From databases and backends over multi-platform mobile, desktop and web apps to owning products, interviewing customers and team management. My years as a key developer at a growing VR/XR-startup, allowed me to utilize and shape my quick reception of complex problems and solution oriented thinking. It also taught me taking technical decisions, that have a direct impact on the company. Early 2021 I joined FARO Europe GmbH & Co. KG. I'm now Team Lead of an R`n`D Software Engineering Team and a certified Scrum Master. Solving challenges comes naturally to me, so I lead by example and I still implement features and fix bugs myself, in every sprint. Professional developer at day and hobby tinkerer at night, I have experience with building custom hardware, including electronics, circuit-board and CAD-Design, 3D printing, microcontroller development and more. Some projects, like VR-PinCade, proved themselves to larger audiences at Meetups and Maker-fairs. I wrote a book about VR development with Unity and my Video Editor for Android has more than 12 Million downloads on GooglePlay. If I'm not developing or "making" things, I love spending my weekends on long hikes in difficult terrains.
