About Daniel Krawiec

I have more than a decade of experience in both Graphic and Web Design, and a comprehensive schooling background in Interactive Media. My past professional experience primarily centers around designing for print, particularly poetry books from independent authors. As Senior Graphic Designer with Jacar Press in Durham, NC, I have designed a wide range of print assets, including- book covers - typeset interiors - posters - broadsheets - postcards - bookmarks - business cards - and more To complement these printed works, I also design digital assets for social media and online events. Additional duties include the development and management of the company's online assets and web presences. I have further experience in small business management & development. A small startup that I founded just after graduating eventually grew into a nonprofit management role. This rewarding experience culminated in my erstwhile position as Director of Sable Books, a small publishing nonprofit operating in NC. During my tenure at Sable Books, I managed all of our print and digital work while also leading efforts in grant writing, fundraising, donor cultivation, and brand management. Under my Direction, Sable Books published such impactful works as-"Red Sky," a collection of poetry tackling the difficult issue of violence against women. This work centers around empowerment and 'un-silencing' women's voices, something I consider critical to making social progress across the world-"Finding Hope," a 'field guide' designed to help families of those suffering from mental health issues. To this day it is used as a resource by NAMI for programs across the state-"The Ending Hasn't Happened Yet," a collection of literary works written by authors from the disability and neurodivergent communities. This work elevates and centers these communities while cultivating awareness of their lives, hopes, dreams, and struggles. My primary software skills span the full breadth of Adobe Creative Suite. As a perpetual learner, I am always looking to improve these skills and expand into new ones.
