About Daniel Kuter

My name is Daniel Kuter and I am a play by play broadcaster looking to take the next step in becoming full-time. I have a passion for this, which pushed me to begin dedicating my time to becoming a better student and broadcaster. With graduation approaching in 2 months, I currently hold a 3.7 GPA at SUNY Oswego. I will be graduating with a Broadcasting degree, and also a minor in Sports Studies. My experiences in the broadcasting field have taken off this year, mostly due to my involvement in the student-run radio station at SUNY Oswego. I quickly became an important asset at WNYO, being promoted to Assistant Sports Director during the winter recess. From here, I took over play by play duties for the D3 hockey team, along with several other responsibilities. I was put in charge of creating game day graphics and poll questions for the radio stations Twitter account, along with interviewing players for pieces featured on the pregame show. With these tasks, I began to develop a better understanding for all the behind the scenes work that goes behind a successful broadcast. I learned the importance of preparation, and how vital it is to attend practices and seek out information from coaches to garner a feel for what to expect in the game and how to incorporate into your broadcasts. I hold myself to a high professional standard, and believe I could be a vital asset to any team. I am an outgoing person that loves to be a part of a team dynamic and create relationships that help the image of the team overall. Through my playing career in hockey, I have a full understanding of how hockey operations work and what must be done to make each part move smoothly. I want to make this a career of mine, thus leading me to put my full attention and effort into becoming the best Media Coordinator and Play by Play broadcaster that I can be.
