About Daniel Lannen

I have worked in the mining industry since November 2019, my first position as a field assistant on a exploration drilling team in Mitiamo, Victoria with catalyst metals. This involved working on A/C and R/C drill rigs learning the fundamental skills on sampling and data collection. I then moved to a graduate rig geologist position in April 2020 at catalyst metals. This involved implementing drill plans and general contractor management. I worked as a casual rig geologist while still working to complete my tertiary degree at Federation University. In November 2020 I was offered a full time position at Ballarat gold mine as a graduate logging geologist. I finished my studies mid semester 2021, successfully complete if my Bachelor of geoscience. I was promoted to graduate underground mine geologist in November 2021 at Ballarat gold mine. In January 2022 I took an opportunity to Dargues gold mine in NSW where o worked as a underground mine geologist. This involved ore management, mapping, sampling, data management, modelling and drilling program design. I finished up at Dargues October 2022. I moved back to Ballarat as mine geologist, after a few months of mine geology I had an opportunity to swap to the drilling and structural geology team. My duties include working and managing our Dimond drilling contractors and also being responsible for structural model updates for the mine. which where I am currently working at and greatly developing my modelling skills.
