About Daniel Laverde

I have a wide range of experience. I've worked as a New York City tour guide while I was at New York University. As a tour guide I learned to communicate to tourists from around the world about history, entertainment, architecture, culture and provide recommendations about the city. I am also a Navy veteran. I learned discipline and dedication in boot camp. I have experience living on a ship with shipmates from around the country. On the ship, we learned about teamwork and perseverance. We also had the opportunity to visit different countries. I worked as an adoption worker with families in the NYC family court system. I learned how to communicate the progress of the adoption to families, lawyers and the judge by monitoring the case. I am a New Yorker living in Medellin Colombia. In this country, I sharpened my Spanish language skills and have been working as an English teacher at the University of EAFIT. As a teacher, it is important to do research, prepare lectures, and provide information in front of different groups of people. I have learned to entertain people so that the classes can be fun and engaging. As an English teacher, I've noticed the difference between those who learn a new language in a classroom setting and those who've acquired it informally. My next step is to work remotely from Colombia as a BDR. I enjoy researching ED Tech companies and I´ve started to listen to Ed Tech podcasts. I am currently taking a BDR course to gain some hands-on experience in this field.
