About Daniel Lill

Originally a physicist by training, I decided to pursue a PhD in systems biology, contributing to the field by mathematical modeling of intra-cellular signaling pathways. During my PhD, I came into contact with the field of pharmacometrics, which has as many similarities as it has differences to dynamic modeling of signaling pathways. The field of pharmacometrics is a very stimulating field, allowing to continue working in a scientific environment even in industrial settings, which I very much enjoy. I like the human aspect of the scientific work, as it usually involves lots of communication. I like working in R and producing high-quality figures to answer the specific scientific question at hand. I believe that the essence of each modeling project can be answered by a single figure and that the process of data analysis and modeling is the search for this very figure. What makes it exciting is that the figure is always different, depending very much on the dataset to be analysed.
