About Daniel Lockren

As Chief Physical Plant and Grounds Officer (CPPGO) Dan is responsible for physical plant operations, including all the buildings & grounds, utilities (including private wells, dams, information technology infrastructure connected to physical plant, etc.), fleet vehicles, maintenance equipment and supplies, energy management systems, and safety and security systems. Dan started his career in aviation, spending over 20 years at Northwest Airlines where he held a number of positions in technical operations, including maintenance, inspection, government affairs, and quality assurance. In quality assurance, he maintained surveillance over Northwest aircraft maintenance activities, both internally and externally, to ensure compliance with all federal and company regulations. Dan’s aviation background naturally transitioned him to facilities maintenance, where he has served as Facilities Manager for 11 years at the University of Minnesota. At the U of MN he managed the maintenance and custodial activities for approximately 1.75 million gross square feet and served as the single point of contact for daily tactical facilities-related work in his buildings. His duties and responsibilities included customer service, security, health and safety, and other facilities support functions such as environmental sustainability initiatives. In 2018, Dan moved to Milwaukee, where he held a number of positions, including Manager of Facilities for CBRE/Johnson Controls as the Director of Operations for the Milwaukee Public Museum, before becoming the Chief Facilities and Ground Officer at Norris Inc. Dan earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota. He has completed coursework in a Master’s of Arts program at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He is a licensed A&P aircraft mechanic and R&E aircraft electrician. He served as a Helicopter Crew Chief and Water Survival Instructor in the US Marine Corps. He currently holds a U.S. Coast Guard 100-ton Captain’s License with sail and tow endorsements and enjoys sailing on Lake Michigan
