About Daniel Long

I have served in the US Army for over 20 years. During that time I have worked within a wide variety of different jobs such as communication, administrative, operation, training and transportation. I am currently serving as the Senior Movements Supervisor for the 18th Airborne Corps. I am responsible for coordinating, tracking, scheduling, approval and loading of both personnel and equipment within the continental US and to different countries around the world. I also manage the deployment readiness program for all units that fall under the Corps, which consists of over Soldiers. This program ensures they are ready to deploy rapidly and efficiently by inspecting their unit deployment readiness programs and briefing the results to their commanding officers. I have facilitated transportation to Germany, Poland, Romania, Cambodia, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Iraq, Jordan, Turkey, Afghanistan, Qatar and Djibouti among others. This required me to work within the respective countries guidelines and determine the most cost efficient method of movement, as well as coordinate with both civilian agencies and different branches of the Armed Forces.
