About Daniel Lovell

My background is as a studio Audio Engineer with strong technical skills, and have been directly involved in all aspects of Post Production Audio throughout my career. As a Post Production Audio Engineer I have been involved in Radio, Television, Multimedia, Commercial, Film work, mixing and creating National and International level Audio Production. I am currently the Audio Application Specialist Senior Manager for APAC (Asia Pacific) at Avid Technology based in Japan. This involves leading the team that both demos and helps spec audio creation tools like Pro Tools, Consoles, controllers, I/O and the other parts of a modern Post Production Environment such as Nexis, Production Management, Media Composer but perhaps more importantly making people excited about great solutions. While I have technical skills and experience I have developed over the last 26 years, believe these are only the tools to allow myself and others to express their creative self, this, and problem solving and solution finding gives me a huge amount of professional satisfaction. Recently an increasing part of my role has to been to effectively communicate regional needs and requests to product teams, which has had significant positive outcomes for both those direct customers but also very real results in delivered features benefiting all users. I also continue to work in the industry, and have been involved with several high profile clients in Japan, creating sound design and mix for commercials for various formats. I have now been based in Japan 16 years and have an intermediate Japanese language ability which I'm always striving to improve further. I'm now a permanent resident of Japan.
