About Daniel Lundberg

My career as a science journalist and writer started for real as I wrote popular science articles about the periodic table of elements. Suddenly, I was not restricted by the bounds of scientific writing, but could explore the full width of chemistry with personal thoughts added between facts and a bit of trivia. I think I may have been a chemist my entire life, but I did not realize it until I started my Ph.D. education. When it comes to research, any possible highlights are part of much larger works but if I were forced to select a personal top 3, perhaps the size of the coordinated sulfur atom, the coordination chemistry of the ion, and the relationship between the trivalent actinoid ions and the corresponding lanthanoid ions would shine a wee bit more. I enjoy all areas of general and inorganic chemistry, particularly coordination chemistry and ionic radii. I have also found that the skills I picked up in the chemical sciences are also useful when studying languages, constructing crosswords, and doing editorial layout.
