About Daniel Lyons

I am currently studying Cybersecurity and Communication at Wittenberg, and am expected to graduate in May of 2024. Although my work experience is varied, I have committed to improving myself as a scholar, worker, and human being during my time in higher education. Making the decision to become an RA was one of the best choices I’ve made in my career, and I am forever grateful for the friends and experiences I’ve gained throughout my time at Wittenberg. It is through those experiences that I’ve learned to work as a team, share empathy with others, and discover a healthy work-life balance. My time in each of my employments shaped me into who I am today, and I am proud of my commitments for that reason. Right now, I am interning with the IT Security Operations team at Hylant. Throughout this program, I've developed experience using Proofpoint, Azure, Solarwinds, and KnowBe4. I've investigated suspicious emails, helped register lookalike domain names, and researched strategies to increase usage of software. I have also worked on a capstone project with other interns, which will be presented before several company leaders. I have formed meaningful connections with the great people that I work alongside, and I am proud to be a part of the culture that Hylant prides itself on.
