About Daniel Mark Sapozhnikov

Molecular biologist in the CRISPR and CAR T-cell therapy space. Ph.D. with Dr. Moshe Szyf at the Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences of McGill University. Previous Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biology/Biological Sciences, Honours with a Minor in Biotechnology from McGill University and awarded the Penhallow Prize as the graduating student with the highest merit in Biology. I specialize in molecular design and method development as it pertains to molecular biology assays, gene editing, and epigenetics to address human disease. Examples of techniques I have developed include a novel approach enabling precise epigenetic editing with CRISPR/Cas9, reduction of off-target mutagenesis of CRISPR/Cas9, as well as new technologies for the enrichment and improved sequencing of understudied low-frequency but high-consequence epigenetic modifications. Interested in leveraging critical thought, and knowledge/proficiency across molecular biology into valuable contributions to engineer the future of molecular therapy.
