About Daniel Massey

I am the program lead for the Operate Through portion of the DoD's 5G to NextG Initiative. Previously I served as a faculty member at the University of Colorado Boulder and as a program manager for the Cyber Security Division (CSD), Science and Technology Directorate, US Department of Homeland Security. CSD’s mission is to "contribute to enhancing the security and resilience of the nation’s critical information infrastructure and the Internet by (1) driving security improvements to address critical weaknesses,(2) discovering new solutions for emerging cybersecurity threats, and (3) delivering new, tested technologies to defend against cybersecurity threats." As a CSD program manager, I developed and managed programs where researchers from both academics and industry identify, address, and deploy cyber security solutions that improve the security and resilience in the Internet. I've also worked on network infrastructure and future network architecture design. I am the author over 100 peer-reviewed publications including both academic results, standards work in IETF, and deployed systems.
