A Journey of Digital Empowerment: Reflecting on My Last 10 Years at SFPL For 10 years as an Electronic Resources Librarian at the San Francisco Public Library (SFPL), I've had the privilege of shaping the digital landscape for our community. It's been a journey of constant innovation, where I've personally overseen the entire lifecycle of our electronic resources, from navigating complex licensing agreements and streamlining acquisitions to ensuring seamless access, robust administration, and responsive user support. A significant part of my role has been to actively collaborate with the Electronic Collections Committee, a partnership that has been instrumental in strategically maintaining and expanding our diverse digital offerings. Building and nurturing strong relationships with our vendors has been key to securing the best resources and fostering a truly dynamic digital environment. Catalyzing Digital Access and Community Engagement My passion lies in leveraging my expertise in technical support, project management, and strategic planning to make a tangible difference. I'm proud to say that my contributions have directly enhanced the accessibility and user engagement with SFPL's invaluable digital resources. This goes beyond just managing systems; it extends to empowering both staff and the public through targeted training, swiftly troubleshooting any resource hurdles, and enthusiastically championing our digital collections. I've actively pursued this through creative outreach initiatives, forging impactful community partnerships, and developing innovative programs that bring these resources directly to those who need them most. Ultimately, my personal mission aligns perfectly with SFPL's core commitment: to ensure equitable access to vital electronic resources, fostering education and deep community engagement for everyone.
