About Daniel McBride
Mr. McBride is a thirty-nine year law enforcement veteran with a wide range of investigative and management experience. From 1968 through 1971 Mr. McBride served with U.S. Army Intelligence as a counter-intelligence agent where among other things he investigated domestic extremist groups. Afterward he served as a Deputy Sheriff in Ohio and held progressively responsible positions as a patrol officer, detective, shift commander, and detective bureau commander. In 1976 he joined the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms as a Special Agent. During his 21 year career he personally conducted and/or supervised a wide range of investigations involving, drug cartels, firearms trafficking, bombings, organized crime, arson-for-profit, and terrorist groups including the Irish Republican Army. He retired in 1997 as the Resident Agent in Charge of the Palm Beach, Florida resident office. In September 2001 Mr. McBride was appointed to the position of Director, National Terrorism Preparedness Institute, St. Petersburg, Florida, an organization that played a critical role during the period immediately following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack. Mr. McBride is also a frequent lecturer on Terrorism related topics and serves as an expert consultant on terrorism with national media. Most recently Mr. McBride was invited to lecture at Oxford University in Oxford, England regarding the use of child soldiers in a combat capacity by various guerrilla and paramilitary groups around the world. Mr. McBride holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama. He is also on the faculty of Capella Universities as an adjunct professor and course developer. He retired from PBSO in 2012 and today instructs in the field of counter-terrorism worldwide for the U.S. State Department,Anti Terrorism Assistance Program Terrorism.
