About Daniel McMahon

I am a practicing general surgeon and perform a wide variety of open, laparoscopic, robotic, and endoscopic procedures. I spent 12 years on active-duty service in the U.S. Navy with a broad range of leadership, operational, and deployment experiences. These include, flight surgery and aerospace medicine, surface naval operations, subsurface naval operations, special operations support, and various other deployments overseas. I have experience navigating the logistics and administrative challenges associated with enabling medical and surgical capabilities overseas and in expeditionary and austere environments. I have a deep interest in medical technology and the life sciences industry with experience in consulting roles for product development and innovation. My specific interests include surgical innovation, robotic surgery, surgical simulation, and medical technologies utilized in austere and military related environments. I apply my clinical, military, leadership, and academic experiences to roles in medical and healthcare consulting. I am a pragmatic and driven individual who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment to develop creative solutions to difficult problems. I enjoy traveling, the outdoors, and reading. I’m a life-long learner and am always looking for a new adventure.
