I've been working in IT for 30 years now. I started off free-lancing on the side after graduating High School, then got my first IT job with a small local business 3 years later. I then got my first long-term IT job in the private sector. I started off doing Hardware/Software Troubleshooting and Repair, getting my CompTIA A+ Certification in the process. I then learned to troubleshoot and repair Laptops, Desktops and HP Printers and got numerous Vendor Certifications including HP, Dell, IBM and Lexmark for their products including Laptops, Desktops, Workstations and Printers. Next, I got into Desktop Support, got my Windows XP MCP and then my Windows 7 Certification. After many years I worked my way into a more Senior Desktop Support role which included elements of Security. As part of that role, I got my CompTIA Security+ Certification in 2015 which I have been renewing every 3 years. I'm now looking to expand into the world of Security as an IT Security Analyst, a related position, or perhaps a Hybrid role similar to what I had 5 years ago. I'm really good with people and provide top notch customer service. I've got many references available that can attest to my abilities and performance over the years. I am also an Amateur Genealogist with 4 years of experience as of October 2023. My family tree started out as a family hobby in 2019, but after adding over people in the tree so far including many historical figures, I'm looking to monetize my experience in the world of Genealogy, not just in IT. I've researched the family trees of a couple clients and one of them with my research assistance and findings was able to join the Daughters of the American Revolution.
