About Daniel Mikkelsen

I build bridges between art and technology. With a foundation in 3D art and a curious, analytical mind, I’ve found my space as a technical artist — the person who can translate ideas between creative teams and developers, and turn concepts into working, interactive experiences. Animated movies first sparked my interest in 3D. Over the years, my goal became creating imagery indistinguishable from reality. Once I reached that point and delivered it at scale, my focus shifted toward optimization — and that curiosity naturally led me to programming. Building a large automated image generation system confirmed that direction and pulled me deeper into technical art, shaders, and the world of interactive solutions where I’ve been ever since. I’ve produced countless high-end visuals for international clients, led teams and projects, and collaborated across departments to build automated image services. I’ve also mentored junior artists, facilitated workshops, and spoken on topics related to visualization and process optimization. Today, I work in XR — developing 3D assets and shaders for Apple Vision Pro experiences. I focus on visual fidelity and meaningful interaction — creating immersive experiences that not only look stunning but communicate their purpose effortlessly. I bring knowledge from both art and development, thrive in both analytical and creative settings, and enjoy connecting those worlds. Outside work, I keep learning — studying alongside my job, programming for fun, and tinkering with my homelab and AI setups.
