About Daniel Nielsen

While it has been in a wide array of fields, ranging from waiting tables and managing a restaurant to leading a preschool classroom as the head teacher, all of my work experience displays the ability to thrive in a person-facing field. Leading a classroom taught me to lead a team, as I was not only in charge of my students, but of my assistant teachers, and taught me to deal with uncomfortable situations. I have developed excellent guest/customer relation skills through my time behind the front desk at a hotel, and through my years of waiting tables. I have strong conflict resolution skills thanks to my role as the Dining Room Supervisor at Matchbox, as I was responsible for all guest recoveries during my shifts. My sheer sales numbers at the restaurants I served at display excellent ability as a salesperson, as I routinely led the restaurants I worked at in multiple categories, including total check price and local beers sold. This shows that in addition to possessing the ability to upsell, I have the ability to develop expertise in a field and use that to give customers even better options and an improved experience.
