About Daniel Nolan

My experience includes a diverse range of occupational health and safety, fire, and risk management roles, and I have experience in various industries, and with the State Government regulator. With a strong emphasis in OHS/fire/safety/emergency response, I have been involved in two of the States largest 'risk loss' events being employed at Esso Longford Gas Plant to assist with rebuild and recovery operations after the fire and explosion, during the Longford Royal Commission, and was also involved in fire response operations in the Country Fire Authority Region 13 Control Centre, during the Black Saturday bushfires and thier aftermath. My experience has included sites which are multi cultural and diverse across nationalities and religions, politically charged, and those recovering from serious incidents which have involved multiple fatalities. I have provided assistance to industry and the community at large as a member of the Risk Management Institute of Australia, and as a founding member of the Fire Protection Association of Australia, after finishing as Victorian State Secretary for the forerunner, the Australian Fire Protection Association. My experience in occupational health and safety includes working across a broad range of industries and identifying deficiencies, opportunities for improvement, and assisting with and encouraging culture change. This has included working in partnership with the WorkSafe Marketing Division in promoting safety through the successful WorkSafe television marketing campaigns. I have represented WorkSafe Senior Leadership Team in public forums such as the Australian Industry Group 'hypothetical' seminars, and as a presenter and speaker to stakeholders and industry groups. I am a trainer and assessor and have been involved with training of WorkSafe Inspectors, and emergency responders, including firefighters, for many years and across diverse industries.
