About Daniel Oconnor

After completing the graduate programme at Applegreen I have now begun my new role with Applegreen Electric and am excited to develop my skills even further in a new, exciting and rapidly-evolving industry, as I work with talented and experienced individuals on different teams across the Groups' regions - the US, Ireland, and the UK. As a Commerce student in UCD I developed an interest in a wide variety of fields and, in my third year, completed a 14-month internship in Microsoft on the Customer Lifecycle Operations team- where I gained my first professional management experience, overseeing vendor teams across EMEA, NALA and APAC. Throughout my time at Applegreen Ireland I worked on the Commercial Marketing team, followed by the Coffee and Hot Beverage Operations team, before working as an Assistant Retail Manager in both a petrol filling station and a travel plaza. I then spent my final 6 months of the programme working for Applegreen U.S.A. Without the presence of a marketing team, I was tasked with establishing various marketing processes from promotional campaigns to digital presence, with the hope of setting the company up for success going forward beyond my placement. I love grabbing a hold of any opportunity to further my personal and professional development that I can. Throughout the grad programme I have improved my flexibility and adaptivity greatly, which is crucial to success when moving between departments, regions, and industries - and particularly into my new role at Applegreen Electric! I am constantly looking to build on my already varied skillset, and I pride myself on being an open-minded, confident and innovative worker and leader- I am always trying to look at situations from all angles, so as to maximize my understanding of them and make the right decisions. I am a motivated worker, with a keen interest in learning and continuous development and self-progression. I pride myself on being extremely punctual, honest and respectful.
