Daniel O'Reilly is an electrical power engineer with over 8 years of experience, 5 years of which have been spent involved in substation solutions for both the utility and mining sectors. During this time he has honed general and technical problem solving skills, and developed an excellent ability to tackle sensitive issues and manage difficult clients from a variety of backgrounds including project managers, contractors, service providers and third parties. Daniel has a passion for engineering with an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development. He has the ability to coordinate timing of projects, schedule drafting resources, and liaise with and manage equipment suppliers and construction crews. This was clear during Daniel’s involvement at ABB where he developed innovative structures to meet the commercial goals of clients from various backgrounds and demonstrated his ability to present timely and practical solutions, including preparation and implementation of reports, engineering deliverables and final outcomes. Daniel has extensive site experience and equipment acceptance testing experience, both domestically and internationally. This includes his involvement as the electrical construction site support engineer for the Roy Hill project, and involvement in acceptance testing of the power transformer manufactured out of Vietnam for the ABB/Rio Tinto Wickham Zone substation project. As a result he has excellent networking and presentation skills, high level liaison and relationship building skills, including extensive experience liaising and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Daniel brings a professional and refreshing business acumen with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent technical writing skills, and the ability to work unsupervised and also as part of a team.
