About Daniel Pavlick

I currently serve as the Associate Director for Academic Operations at the Ying Wu College of Computing, with primary responsibility for the class schedule for the departments of Computer Science, Informatics, and Data Science. Additionally, I oversee registration support (overriding registration errors, managing waitlists, etc.) for students in those departments. Related projects include recruiting and supporting adjunct instructors, supporting our advising team, consulting on matters of university protocol and process for faculty and college/department leadership, and assisting with TA assignments for doctoral students. This is an extension of my previous title and responsibility set as Academic Coordinator. Prior to my current role, I served as an Academic Advisor for four years, assisting undergraduate and graduate students with course selection and degree planning. In this position, I often served as the first point of contact for students in times of academic or personal distress and provided individual counseling, tutoring, and career guidance as needed. My educational background includes both psychology/counseling (B.A, The College of New Jersey; M.A, New York University) and computer science (B.S, M.S, New Jersey Institute of Technology). Outside of work, I enjoy various mind- and body-bending activities from gymnastics and martial arts to jigsaw puzzles, foreign languages, and strategy games.
