About Daniel Plant

Hello, So, just to summarize my education, I am an MBA student focusing on economic development at Cape Breton University, and I have a degree in journalism from Humber College. With regard to work and volunteer experiecne, I have been volunteering or working in the South Etobicoke community for over fifteen years. I began in high school as a volunteer for LAMP Community Health Centre, and then was hired by their community relations manager to be a community relations assistant. While working at LAMP, I assisted with the creation of LAMP's membership drive marketing plan, and I Conducted outreach in the community to promote LAMP and the services offered there I now work for Humber College as a research assistant studying the issue of affordable housing in Toronto. In this position, I created and implemented marketing and outreach strategies for achieving community participation goals, conducted research on rent and housing issues in Toronto, created and hosted meetings and workshops with marginalized residents, and initiated contact with community agencies and liaised with their staff to create links between their organizations and the research project.
