About Daniel Pool

I am an experienced multimedia professional living and working in the south-central Oklahoma region. I have worked in the education, financial, and telecommunication industries. I graduated from the University and Science and Arts of Oklahoma in 2011 with a degree in Psychology. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2017 with a master's in library and information science. My first job out of college was logistics for a telecommunication contractor. From there I became a project manager for a banking software company in their mobile processing department. For the last decade, I have been working for a public liberal arts university as an assessment coordinator, librarian, and adjunct faculty member. During the pandemic, I volunteered for my hometown's city council and oversaw operations during a politically volatile time. We had to select a new city manager and continue grant work that would have halted otherwise. As a librarian, I have overseen the writing and operation of four technology grants. These expanded patron services for students without access to necessary education technology. In addition, I carry out workshops, events, and other campus activities to increase library usage. As a faculty member, I have taught general education courses as well as a makerspace course. These classes consisted of students from across disciplines. These interdisciplinary courses helped instruct students in how to be successful students and utilize technology to aid them in finishing their degrees. I have also worked on over thirty committees. At present, I am the president of the University Staff Association. This organization helps negotiate on behalf of staff members. It also raises scholarship money and funding for other philanthropic programs. In my spare time, I write fiction, design games, and create podcasts.
