About Daniel Poulter

From an early age, I have been passionate about software development. My journey began with programming LEGO robots, starting with simple drag-and-drop interfaces and progressing to writing code to control motors. This enthusiasm continued through high school and naturally led me to pursue formal studies in software development. I completed a two-year Software Development course at WeThinkCode_, where I honed my skills in C, Assembly, C++, and web development. During my studies, I engaged in various projects, ranging from building a basic game bot to compete against other students to developing an image sharing website. Currently, I am a Senior Software Engineer at Yoco. During my time here, I have contributed to the development of the signup and onboarding flow for new merchants and maintained our Point of Sale application, amongst other projects. My dedication to coding extends beyond the workplace. I often engage in personal projects at home, such as programming custom keyboards and expanding our smart home setup by automating tasks within the house. This includes sending the robotic vacuum to clean after the cats have used the litter. This continuous learning and hands-on experience enable me to stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies. I am particularly interested in home automation and robotics and constantly seek opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills in these areas. While my exact career path in the next five years is uncertain, I am confident that it will involve programming. My goal is to leverage my passion for software development to create innovative solutions that make a difference.
