About Daniel Price

My education has been global and what I lack in “credentials” I make up for in real, lived experience and practical hands on learning. I spent eight years living and working overseas in Ghana, India, the Marshall Islands, the Republic of Georgia, Guyana, and Hawaii, much of that time living in villages off-grid with indigenous peoples. My experiences run the gamut-from working with gold and diamond miners to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS in the Amazon, teaching, spearfishing and subsistence hunting in the outer islands of remote Pacific coral atolls, teaching English near the Black Sea in rural western Georgia in the Caucuses, studying ancient archaeology in Delhi, backpacking and exploring the high peaks of the Himalayas in Himachal Pradesh, designing service projects in the Volta River region to help boost ecotourism for villages around Wli Falls, building complex agro forests and agroecological systems in tropical and temperate climates to fight food insecurity and chronic disease. working as a cultivator and consultant in the cannabis industry, to designing curriculum and teaching in the inner cities of America. I speak an indigenous language (Marshallese) as well as basic Twi, Hindi, Georgian, Hawaiian and Guyanese Creole. I am an expert generalist, pro -social, a naturalist, farmer and fisherman with a wide variety of experiences in international development and education, working with at risk youth in some of the most underprivileged and largely forgotten communities in the United States including the Southside of Chicago, Hawaiian Homelands in Hawaii, American Indians in South Denver, and Latino youth in Commerce City, CO. I am a subject area expert in American and Global history, agroecology, in organic agriculture, permaculture, and horticulture, in activism, music, and as a public servant, as well as sales, project management, marketing, business consulting, and start ups. I am community and civically minded and currently a project manager in city government. I have a bachelors in History from University of Rochester, concentrations in Early American and World History, clusters in Environmental Science and Philosophy. I am focused on addressing the triple crisis of democracy, biodiversity, and climate, working with others to discover solutions to improve the lives of people through sustainable community development, regenerative agriculture and environmental justice while speaking truth to power and calling out corporate greed, the effects of Colonialism and Neo-colonial systems, and the global petroleum mafia.
